STRANGERS, DANGERS, MYSTERIES AND MURDERS!!!!

“Thrilling” is the word that comes to my mind when I think of the author “Agatha Christie”. The first Agatha Christie book I read was “Black Coffee”, this book sparked a flame of admiration in me which I didn’t have before for detective books, and the rest as you all can feel was history. I have made a vow that I will read all the Agatha Christie books there are in the world. I have met a lot of people who don’t like to read detective books but to all those who are of this category, I would like to suggest a few books by Agatha Christie that would definitely change your mind!!

1.    AND THEN THERE WERE NONE

This is one of the many masterpieces that Agatha Christie wrote, it is now also adapted into a television series. It is one of the most thrilling books I have ever read, the book is mainly about a group of strangers from different professions who are invited by someone they know or due to some job opportunity to the same place which is an island and are stranded there. Now one by one the occupants of this island home are murdered but who is murdering them? Read this extraordinary book and find out!!!

2.    THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD

This is by far the most intriguing and iconic book for me. It totally blew my mind and I assure you when you reach the end, you’ll understand why I used the term “blew my mind”. this book is about the murder of a millionaire “Roger Ackroyd”, Hercule Poirot the famous detective enjoying his retirement was once again forced to jump into this investigation as the one murdered was his acquaintance. The events lead to a revelation that even puts the detective book geniuses say “HOW DID THIS HAPPEN”. This book made Agatha Christie a legend only rivalled by Arthur Conan Doyle. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

3.    MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS

This is another mindboggling book written by Agatha Christie, her famous character Hercule Poirot investigates the murder of Samuel Ratchett, who actually has a very interesting past, as a matter of fact everyone on the orient express had an intriguing past which would lead to the events on the train, now it is up to Monsieur Poirot to save the day.

4.     APPOINTMENT WITH DEATH

This is one of those books which has a psychological angle to it. Although “AND THEN THERE WERE NONE” had a psychological factor in it, this book, in particular, uses it and causes a climax that turns the story around completely. This book will confuse you; you will constantly think who is the killer and I bet when in the end you realize who the killer was you will be completely blown away. If you are a fan of a small romance within a thriller this is the book for you.

5.    PERIL AT END HOUSE

Personally, this book was very extraordinary, the book revolves around “Nick” Buckley, a girl who lives at the End house near the hotel where Hercule Poirot and his best friend Captain Hastings are enjoying their holidays. This book has several plot twists and the biggest plot twist will make you realize who is the killer of Nick Buckley’s cousin Magdala Buckley. The end twist is something you will never expect and that’s what makes Agatha Christie an extraordinary writer.

In her life, Agatha Christie has written many masterpieces, some of which I mentioned above, there may be many detective books authors but my favorite will always be Agatha Christie, her style of writing is not as complex as most classic writers like Henry James or F. Scott Fitzgerald but is simple to understand and at the same time it is filled with numerous plot twists and remarkable climaxes. I hope you all would give these books a try and dive into the world of murder mysteries.
