There are several
detective novels which are very famous all over the world, some of them have
originated in our country but not many people know about these detectives.
Let’s know about one such detective who is less known in our own country but
widely known all over the world.
Satyajit Ray
is known extensively as a filmmaking extraordinaire, he is not just a director
but scriptwriter, author, lyricist, magazine editor, illustrator, calligrapher
and an avid music composer. In his homeland, he had won several awards including
Bharat Ratna, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri and Padma
Vibhushan etc. and away from home he had won awards such as BAFTA Award for
Best Film, Academy Honorary Award etc. Feluda is one of his most widely known
creations.
Feluda is
the nickname of Prodosh Chandra Mitter who is a very famous private detective.
He is always accompanied by his nephew Topesh Ranjan Mitter affectionately
called Topshe. In the 6th book “Sonar Kella” a new character is
introduced. Jatayu (Lalmohan Ganguli) is a writer who joins the duo for their
future investigations. Even though Jatayu is a famous writer he has below
average intelligence and provides a comic relief. Sidhu Jetha is another
character who is very significant in Feluda series, he is the go-to man when
Feluda and company need any intel.
Feluda has
been adapted into screenplays, web series and was played by numerous actors.
Among the numerous actors who played Feluda the only ones who were considered
as Feluda permanently were Soumitra Chatterjee and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty.

to know some of our country’s literary treasures. After reading these I am sure
you will not be able to stop until you finish them all. You may even want to
look into more books penned by Satyajit Ray which is highly recommended. With
Feluda, Topshe and Jatayu you will never get bored and maybe you will be able
to solve mysteries on your own and become a real life Prodosh Mitter, who
