Kratika Sengar On Joining Choti Sarrdaarni

After a gap of almost three years, Kratika Sengar is back in action with the TV show Choti Sarrdaarni. The makers have roped Kratika in to replace the Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia. While it has been reported that Nimrit has quit, a source of BT who is associated with the show says, “Nimrit had to take a break due to some health issues. She is very much a part of the show and we will try to accommodate her via phone calls. We needed a popular face for an upcoming track and that’s how Kratika came into the picture. We don’t know how long the cameo would last. We will plan the future track once Nimrit recovers and resumes shooting.”

Talking about her role, Kratika says, “I am not replacing Nimrit, but playing a new character. I wouldn’t have taken up the offer had they approached me to replace the original protagonist. She has played the character so beautifully that I wouldn’t want to step into her shoes.”

Kratika was on a break since mid-2018 after her TV show, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, was wrapped up. “I wanted to take a break after the show wrapped up. I couldn’t take up anything in 2019 due to a personal crisis. I needed to be with my family. And by the time things became fine, the lockdown was implemented,” she says.

Talking about the rumors about her pregnancy she said, “It used to bother me earlier, but not anymore. I recently posted pictures from my break in the Maldives after I received my license and certificate for underwater diving. Even after that, I was deluged with calls from people inquiring whether I was pregnant. If I was expecting a baby, how will my doctor allow me to go underwater? (laughs!).”

She further adds “To be honest, I don’t think I am mentally ready for it yet. People from our generation want to be prepared for every little thing,”
